BreatheMeter is designed for breathing awareness and general wellbeing. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Information stored on your device
Breathing measurements and related history, exercise activity, and app preferences may be stored locally on your device so the app can display your readings, history and progress. The Service Provider does not operate a server that stores your personal breathing-measurement history.
If you export information using an available export feature, the file is created on your device. If you choose to share it using the iOS share sheet, the information is sent to the destination you select and is then subject to that destination’s privacy practices.
Analytics and diagnostics
BreatheMeter uses Firebase Analytics and related Firebase diagnostics services to understand app usage, measure feature engagement and identify crashes or technical problems. Depending on the enabled SDK features and your device settings, these services may process events about app interactions, app/device information, diagnostic data, session information and identifiers used for analytics.
We use this information to maintain and improve BreatheMeter. We do not intentionally include your breathing readings or other sensitive health information in analytics events. Analytics data may be associated with app-instance or device identifiers and should not be assumed to be completely anonymous.
Firebase is provided by Google. Read the Google Privacy Policy for more information.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases
BreatheMeter offers optional Premium subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system. Available subscription options and prices are shown in the app and may change over time.
- Apple: Apple processes the payment and manages your App Store subscription. BreatheMeter does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
- RevenueCat: BreatheMeter uses RevenueCat to help retrieve subscription products, process purchase results, verify subscription entitlements and keep Premium access in sync. RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, product and package identifiers, transaction and purchase metadata, subscription status/entitlements, and technical information required to provide its service.
- Purpose: This information is used to make purchase options available, determine whether a subscription is active, restore purchases and provide the Premium features you have purchased.
RevenueCat does not process your payment card as the merchant of record; payment is handled by Apple. Subscription and transaction information may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat under their own privacy policies. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Apple Privacy Policy.
Local notifications
If you enable reminders, BreatheMeter may schedule local notifications on your device to remind you to practise an exercise or return to the app. You can manage notification permission at any time in iOS Settings. These reminders are scheduled by the app on your device; this policy does not describe remote push notifications.
Apple Health
If Apple Health integration is available in your version of BreatheMeter and you choose to enable it, the app may write authorised breathing or respiratory-rate measurements to Apple Health. Access is controlled by the permissions you grant in iOS. You can review or revoke those permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings. Apple Health data is handled under Apple's terms and privacy practices. The Service Provider does not use HealthKit data for advertising.
Location and registration
BreatheMeter does not require you to create an account to use its core features and does not collect your precise real-time location.
How information is shared
The Service Provider does not sell personal information. Information is shared with service providers only as needed for the purposes described in this policy, such as Firebase for analytics and diagnostics, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Apple for App Store purchases and any Apple Health integration you authorise. Information may also be shared if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of users or the Service Provider.
Retention and deletion
Locally stored app data generally remains on your device until you delete it within the app, where that option is available, or remove the app and its associated data using iOS. Exported files you share may remain with the recipient or in the destination you selected, and you are responsible for managing those copies.
Firebase and RevenueCat may retain analytics, diagnostic, purchase or subscription-related records for the periods needed to provide their services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Their retention and deletion practices are described in their respective privacy policies. Deleting the app does not necessarily delete records already held by Apple, Firebase or RevenueCat.
Security
The Service Provider takes reasonable steps to protect information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your device's operating system up to date and use appropriate device security. Data handled by Apple, Google/Firebase and RevenueCat is also subject to their systems and security practices.
Children's privacy
BreatheMeter is not directed at children under 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the Service Provider, contact us using the details below so we can review the matter.
Your choices
- Notifications: Disable BreatheMeter notifications in iOS Settings.
- Apple Health: Review or revoke BreatheMeter's Health permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings.
- Analytics: You can review available iOS privacy and analytics controls in your device settings. Some diagnostic or purchase records required for the app's operation may still be processed by the relevant providers.
- Subscriptions: View, change or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account's subscription settings. Removing BreatheMeter does not automatically cancel a subscription.
- Local data: Use any deletion options provided in the app, or remove the app and its associated local data from your device. Save any exports you wish to keep before deleting data.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when app features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Please review it periodically.
